Social media has both positive and negative effects on young people depending on how much and how it’s used.


Positive effects

• Platforms allow sharing art, music, opinions, and talents.

• Can help build confidence and personal identity.


3. Access to information and learning

• Educational content, news, and awareness of social issues.

• Encourages activism and community involvement.


4. Support networks

• Online communities can provide emotional support and a sense of belonging.


Negative effects

1. Mental health issue

• Linked to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and loneliness.

• Constant comparison with others can harm body image and confidence.
